The Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECX), established in 2025, is one of the newest departments at KIOT. Conceived at the intersection of two transformative disciplines, it is uniquely positioned to address the evolving demands of a technology-driven world. ECX programme is designed to cultivate deep expertise in electronics while developing strong computational thinking, equipping graduates with the versatility required by modern industry.
A defining focus of the programme is its alignment with India’s Semiconductor Mission, preparing students with both foundational and applied knowledge to contribute meaningfully to the next generation workforce in the domains of chip design, embedded hardware, and semiconductor systems. In parallel, the curriculum places strong emphasis on Cyber-Physical Systems—an emerging domain that integrates computation, networking, and physical processes—thereby preparing graduates to engineer the smart systems of tomorrow.
The department is built on the conviction that strong fundamentals, industry-relevant learning, and a spirit of innovation are the cornerstones of engineering success. Beyond academics, students are encouraged to develop professional competencies through workshops, symposia, guest lectures, and active participation in professional bodies such as ISTE, SAE, and IEEE.
