Innovation is an essential component for accelerating creativity, improving collaboration, and addressing the complex problems of today’s rapidly evolving world. This is where start-ups play an essential role for serving a new idea, experimentation, and disruptive solutions. Start-ups bring the creativity required to tackle modern world issues, offering new ways of thinking that can reshape entire industries. In order to compete with this, an exclusive Incubation and Startup Cell has been established in KIOT campus.
Objectives:
- Foster innovation by supporting creative ideas and solutions.
- Nurture early-stage start-ups with resources, mentorship and infrastructure.
- Encourage an entrepreneurial culture through events, workshops and networking.
- Facilitate industry collaborations for strategic support, market access and funding.
- Help start-ups secure funding through grants, investors and partnerships.
Outcome of an initiative:
- KIOT is one among the 113 leading Indian Institutions to have set up an IDEA Lab. Around 725 students have participated in various programs to improve their project ideas.
- Received grant from the state government to establish a Pre-Incubation Centre in KIOT campus.
- Student teams have achieved cash rewards and internships in a state-level EDIITN Hackathon and Quest Global Ingenium Contest.
- Student start-ups are nurtured and they have received the StartupTN Smart Card.
