Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) has been established in our College on 30/07/2011. WEC aims to create awareness that women’s development is integral to the overall development of the country. It helps in creating social awareness about the problems of women, in particular regarding gender discrimination. The WEC also provides a resource center for women and a forum for the exchange of ideas. It helps in developing self-confidence of women and to direct women’s role in the society.
As per the Instructions given by UGC and the Guidelines by the Anna University Chennai by its letter bearing No.2502/SA 1/2013 on 15/5/2013 with regard to the security arrangements for girl students and also to ensure a safe environment for girl students and women employees. The WEC, KIOT was dynamically encouraging girl students for their empowerment.
Women Empowerment Cell is also functioning as an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell, to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of KIOT, also to provide a neutral, confidential and supportive environment for members of the campus community who may have been sexually harassed.
As per the instructions of AICTE, University Grants Commission, Anna University & the Supreme Court an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been established in our College under the guidelines of VISHAKA committee on 22/06/2018.
